Education Votes

The website for Education Votes, the National Education Association's political arm, empowers union members and allies to be effective advocates for public schools and pro–public education candidates for national and local office.

By showcasing educators' stories and providing an ever-changing roster of engaging interactive organizing tools, EdVotes.org helps users learn about issues impacting America’s schools and spread the word to their friends and colleagues.

Our Freedom to Read interactive tool raised awareness of increasing censorship by inviting users to create a customized bookmark inspired by their favorite banned book.

Users could choose a design, add a personal statement and, after sharing their contact info, download a PDF to print or share on social media.

This Candidate Comparison tool lets voters compare candidates’ positions across key issues affecting public schools.

Our multimedia timeline proves Education Votes’ impact by highlighting important wins for students and educators.

Optional links drive to related site content and actions like signing a pledge and finding local volunteer opportunities.

The online companion to NEA’s Meet the Candidates event featured a live stream of interviews with presidential hopefuls.

The following day, and up until the general election, users could watch highlight clips of the interviews, filterable by candidate and topic.
